Hmm... Things To Think About!

This past weekend was a lot of fun Angie (Scott's ex/good friend) came to town with her boyfriend Lui. Scott and I met them at Foxwoods which ended up being a lot of fun. Scott and I took the bus down and immediately signed up for a table which was pretty stupid because we met up with Angie and Lui right after and missed our seats. Drove around a bit so the boys could do their fun, then went back in and re signed up for a table which was 100+ players deep. Boo. When we finally got seated, Scott and I were on the same table. I was doing pretty well and getting some great hands, but Scott had to fold pretty much every hand. I got sucked out on and we lost, but we got up and ate some dinner (at 3am!) and when we jumped back on the tables things got better. I dont know how many of you heard about the crash on i-95, but our bus coming from New York was delayed 6HRS(!) and we ended up jumping on this really bad table where we just mowed them over. Yay! Wish we stayed on it longer :(

Things are going pretty well. Still need a job of course, but Scott and I are happy and hes winning a lot in poker, so thats always good for the spirits!

Thinking about jobing it up at Foxwoods. It would be pretty difficult, having to commute on a weekly basis and Id have to get a room to sleep in 3 nights a week... but who knows? It could be good for me! We shall see.

Pokie Time!

So last Saturdays game was quite a success. We had a turn out of 24 people, so three tables of 8, and the environment was extremely laid back and such a blast! I dealt the main table while the other two tables dealt for themselves until we condensed to 2 tables and Drake dealt with me. We threw in a nice hour dinner break around 6pm which everyone appreciated and I got to chat with some of our new players. Everyone new seemed to have a pretty good grasp of what they were doing (always relieving!) and everyone seemed to be really happy with our new poker room. Its gorgeous! Sometimes I go down there just to hang out now :) Hopefully we'll have another tournament soon. We are thinking about having a $100+10 tournament where 25% goes to the house because we need new poker chips like WHOA. I'm not sure how people will feel about the entire pot not going to the winners, but I feel like they should be okay with it because just about everyone comes and plays poker 1-3 times a week at our place, and so the chips are really for them... but who knows? I know if I was going to a house to play that often, I would love to chip in (no pun intended) for improvements for the environment I am constantly in! But that could just be me. What do you all think?

The cash game was AWESOME! The first time we have installed the .50/1 blinds and it went really well. We had about 12 players throughout the night, usually the table had 8 at it at a time. Lots of aggression, TONS of huge pots. We stocked the fridge with a zillion kinds of beer and ordered up some pizzas and everyone seemed to have a really great time. I can tell this game is going to be great throughout the winter. Nice cozy room with TVs and great music, beer pizza and tons of money being tossed around? Does it get better than that? So as for the tournament, we ended up with 17 players which is way less than we wanted, but what can you do? We all had a great time playing, and I feel like in these long tournaments we all really get to play to our best ability, as in if you get a bad beat, you still have time and chips to make it back, its not the end of the world. The grossest part of the night was when Scott FINALLY got a good amount of chips after folding for the last year and 1/2, and he re raises Mike on his right with AKh, and Mike calls him with A7s and gets the running flush to take him out. So close to the money to. Ah, such is poker, no? Hopefully we'll get more bigger tourneys going. This one was mostly for the sake of raising money for our new chips (which we totally didnt get enough for because we needed more players to reach our goal! BOO to those who didnt come!) but in the future, it will be sick! See you all on the felt!

HTML!

So thanks to Manas, I am now quite interested in HTML... at least the basics for now. I have set up a small homepage and am trying to add details to it slowly. I think it is coming out quite nicely so far. I dont know how far I will go with it or what I really want to do with it, but boy, do I have ideas!

No more car for me... Jamie took it back today and I am rather sad about it. I wonder how long it will take him to widdle the left over money from the UHaul settlement out of me!

I want to find different things to do in Boston that are free and fun. Well, maybe not totally free, but cheap. I want to spend more time in Chinatown and I want to learn another language. (Not Chinese, those two things have nothing to do with each other). I want to dye my hair and I want to host 2 raked cash games a week. Better get cracking, eh?

Dream

I was in Foxwoods and I lost my gold purse. It apparently had a lot of money in it, a lot of that money being crumpled up ones. So I'm running around Foxwoods looking for my purse, when I see a little boy holding a bunch of those one dollar bills. I chase after him and into his classroom where he tells me I cant prove that the money is mine and he's laughing about it. I start to yell back that the money is mine, but the teacher (young pretty female, reminds me of my 4th grade teacher) starts to stick up for him. I give up and leave.

I drive my silver minivan back to my dad's house in New Hampshire, park it out front, and get out of the car. As soon as I get out I realize I need to go back to Foxwoods and get my purse, and that it was stupid to just leave it there when it's so important. I crouch down and start to sneak back to the car because I dont want my mom to see me come home and leave again so quickly. In the bay window there is a crazy blonde homeless looking guy.

I get back to my car and there are two people in the passengers and drivers seats. They have lots of paper plates filled with food. There is a 3rd person outside of the car with a camera/camcorder. I tell them to get out of my car, I need to leave. They tell me they are filming a movie, and just a minute. The two in the car start striking poses with the paper plates. I am in a panic.

AN IDEA

Was talking to an old friend last night and I got to thinking about working over at the race track. No, not as a bookie, but as a poker dealer. I hear they make fantastic money, and I could really use some of that. I would have to get a car, but I would get a used one and it would make a world of difference to have one. Do you have one you would like to sell me? Or perhaps just give me. For free. Really. You're too kind.

It looks like I would probably work 6-7 days a week, but hell, wouldn't it be worth it? I'd save a hell of a lot of money, thats for sure! Hmm... interesting.

Speaking of saving money, I just got myself out of a big hole! UHaul came through finally on the accident I got into with Jamie's car. (NOT my fault, I have to say that even for the fact that I mentioned just prior that UHaul came through because... well, you know. Asian and all.) They gave him a check for $1,003.66 Odd number, no? Lets just hope that covers it!

Things have been a little awkward around the house lately with Deanna, Scott and I. I think Deanna feels like ever since I started dating Scott I am pulling apart their friendship, when the reality is Scott hates her more than anything and thinks shes a total bitch, and it all started when she stole money from the poker pot. I'll give her that she was broke as shit at the time and probably a little desperate to pay some bills, but shit, shes got friends, and I'm sure they would have lent her money if she could let go of her pride a little. Hell, I'm in the same situation as she was then, and I'm asking away! (Hmm... note to self; be more tactful).

Either way, its a hate Triangle. Scott hates her, and therefore she hates me. Well, I don't hate Scott, but you get the gist. How to solve this dilemma! Any suggestions? I'm in dire need! HELP!

All weekend Scott worked on completely fixing up the bathroom in our bedroom. I'm stoked, it looks beautiful! new sink, toilet, shower curtain, floor, tiles, etc..... You may be thinking to yourself "Gee, she sure needs a life if she gets this excited over a bathroom!" But you go redo your own bathroom and get back to me. Chances are, you're gonna be a little excited about it.

.... but you're right, I could use a life too.
